The Victorious Life!

Take a lesson from dandelions; they do what they can do;

To help them grow they spread their seed, and grow as tall as they will need,

In the grass or near the trees they grow and grow.

 --

Take a lesson from dandelions, that God has made them strong;

To weather rain and wind and snow, grow short and tall, yes they just know;

What to do to help them live and grow and grow and grow.

The First Dandelion

Simple and fresh and fair from winter's close emerging,
As if no artifice of fashion, business, politics, had ever been,
Forth from its sunny nook of shelter'd grass--innocent, golden, calm as the dawn,
The spring's first dandelion shows its trustful face.
"Leaves of Grass," by Walt Whitman

Cultivating Christian Character

Christ in you, the hope of glory

The badge of Christianity is not an outward sign, not the wearing of a cross or a crown, but it is that which reveals the union of man with God. By the power of His grace manifested in the transformation of character the world is to be convinced that God has sent His Son as its Redeemer. No other influence that can surround the human soul has such power as the influence of an unselfish life. The strongest argument in favor of the gospel is a loving and lovable Christian.  {MH 470

"OK, Temcat; What's with the Dandelions??"

Stop and think for a while; are not Dandelions about the most persecuted of plants? Yes indeed! People dig them up, poison them, plow them down, and get upset whenever they see one. And yet they hang in, and they come back, and  confidently lift their happy heads early in spring when the weather is still cold. They stay cheerful, and never complain, fight back or try to revenge their bad treatment. They don't allow discouragement to affect their lives. They are a blessing to early bees, and what flower is more enjoyed by small children?

They are always ready to feed the hungry. They can be eaten as salads and cooked up as greens, and when people lived closer to the earth, they were welcomed as a fresh food supply after a long winter.

And there is something else about Dandelions; they are medical missionaries! The leaves, roots and flowers of that amazing plant contain marvelous properties that can heal and save lives! A tea from dandelion root and leaf can ease the nastiest fever. They can heal liver and kidney ailments, aid to overcome addictions, and  help to detoxify any diseased body. And they won't even send you a bill!

If this is new to you, do some research and learn to appreciate the amazing Dandelion. But even more; let's learn the lessons God wants to teach us through them and strive to be as useful and helpful and cheerful as they, even when people shun and hate us! =^..^=
